A very strange week, indeed.
Slept for two days, woke up for a few meetings at work, slept again, crocheted a bit, battled weird infection of embroidery-induced finger prick, cooked like a maniac, ate quite sensibly, and finished a blanket.
This one was the perfect combo: tiny components, manycolors, easily accommodated improvisation (heh, you can pinpoint the exact moments when I got bored), and manymanycolors.
The Details:
Pattern: An improvisation on Scrappy Steps Afghan
Materials: various worsted weight yarns in manymanycolors
Hook: G (4.5mm)
Finished size: 58″ x 66″
Started: November 3, 2011
Finished: November 24, 2011

wow, you finished that super quick! Its beautiful!
You always make beautiful things! I hope you are feeling better!
Gorgeous!
You must crochet as fast as a house afire. Made in less than three weeks. Really? REALLY???
So so so gorgeous! I love the way the colors zig and zag all over it.
Gorgeous!
You are never not amazing. This is gorgeous!
So cheerful and ebullient! The image on the bed reminds me of our first color TV.
I just love that blanket.
that is beautiful and so much more interesting with the improv. hope you are feeling much better now! you need that embroidery finger healthy!
i love this. so. much.
Oh WOW! another stunning blanket. I love your sense of color & improv skill.
wow — fabulous. Another “picker-upper” that I will be looking at online for cheer in the winter :))
and I hope you haven’t started to get “can you give me row by row instructions” for this yet ….. ROFL (you have to laugh….)
OH MY GOD I love this blanket. The pattern is super interesting to look at up close, and the overall effect is really interesting as well. Way to go!!
i am impressed that you ate sensibly… i did not. and i had pie for breakfast this morning, i feel good about it! ;) love the blanket… i cannot see where you got bored. i can see where you are a super bad ass though!

this looks so slithery and sensual all laid out. sort of surprising. i love it.
and your stellar bird painting. happy holiday!
I didn’t expect to see this so soon. Lovely as always. It looks perfect for snuggling under on a snow day.
The depth of your yarn stash amazes me!
So awesome! And I can’t believe how fast you are!

glad you’re feeling better. I could do with sleeping for two days…sigh.
Holy crap–you are one amazing crafter!
Wow! That is awesome!
Missoni gonna be jealous!

Beautiful! This may be my next afghan project! Can you blog about what you did to vary the pattern?
I keep looking at this stunner. This is so fantastic!
I love this!
You eye for color combinations never ceases to amaze me. This blanket is gorgeous!!!
Love the unexpected shifts!
Gorgeous, ditto all the above. Love making blankets too. though mine not quite so snazzy :)
Sometimes I wonder if you are a super advanced human being from the future (or a robot with amazing artificial intelligence), because everything you do is gorgeous, then you do it all with amazing skill and speed.
I truly adore this blanket. It looks so super cozy, and the manycolors make me happy. I hope you feel rested! If not, just curl under this beauty for a little nap!
I’m always amazed at how much you finish in such a short time. That would have taken me two years to make! My boredom patches would have been much, much longer than yours.
Lovely – and you are right – I can clearly follow your rhythm of attention. Excellent work!
Holy smokes, that’s awesome! You have really been getting your crochet on.
Wow. Just Wow.
