It is sad that it takes tragedy to really know the strength of your community. Yesterday I took care of many young people and a couple of folks came to my rescue too. And, at the end of the night, hundreds of folks embraced a family at once.
After many hours of keeping it together–being professional and all, I came home late at night to silence. Silence and this stitchery. It was a perfect silence and every stitch of this word meant the world to me.
This one is for my friend.

stitching soothes the horrors of life. a virtual hug, wrapping you in the threads that heal us…..
Hope you’re ok.
You’re living your words. Take care of yourself, friend.
I’m so sorry, c. And it’s one of those inexplicable things (along with the tragedy you experienced) that the word you’d chosen to stitch next was exactly the word you’d need most. As michele maks said, these are the threads that heal us. Lucky are we to know what to do. Take care and be well.
((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))
My heart breaks for this young man and his family and friends.
sending good thoughts…xoxoxo love your stitches
I’m very sorry for your loss, and the loss to your community, C.
i don’t know what happened, but lots of love to you all!
oh so sad. did a quick search based off your area. so very sad.
Can’t imagine how hard it is. Hope that your sharing here helps you as much as it does others.
That sounds like a good balance – strong community, yet time for yourself at the end of the day to take off the mask holding everything together and take care of YOU.
I’m so sorry, C.
Oh, hell, I’m sorry. Life is so short, no matter how long it is.
C, I’m so so sorry you and your community and his family. Words sound hollow right now but please know they’re filled with love.
Oh shit, I’m sorry to hear something has happened. I hope you’re OK.
i’m so very sorry, chawne.
hugs dear friend. my thoughts are with you! xoxo
