Our snow wasn’t as epic as predicted, but we still pretended Saturday was a snow day. There were waffles, House of Cards, and there was quiet time.
I took these shots at dawn through a screened window. Although it’s not a stunning view, it’s one I contemplate over often. Skip the manicured landscapes of my neighborhood; this a more intimate look at backyards: sagging power lines, dormant gardens, the slow wakening.
Stay safe. And stay warm, friends.

beautiful photos..like how they gradually sharpen. no snow in our neck of the woods.
It’s like looking through Aida cloth.
These are interesting and lovely. I’m experiencing snow envy, but I’m sure we’ll get more before the winter’s over. A peaceful interlude.
Lovely photos. I love a snow day.
There’s something truly wonderful about how the whole world stops for snow!
I am LOVING House of Cards! Isn’t it fantastic?
I am off to make an inspired cup of hot chocolate.
You keep cozy too!
I have heard very good things about House of Cards. Can’t wait to check it out!
You could use that screen shot as a counted cross stitch pattern.
