Well, after an enormously wonderful welcome in the rush hour traffic of Cambridge, MA last week, I garaged the car and enjoyed a few days with great people in a great area.
Here’s the quick recap…!
First I spent an afternoon at Gather Here just sewing here and there, but mostly meeting some of my sewing heroes and eating lots of cookies. Among lots of other folks, there was Stacie and Martiza, toast-mogul Eling, and overachiever Molly who finished her snake trail quilt!
That evening, I was overwhelmed by getting to meet many of you lovely folks out there who read this blog. Thanks for coming!
It was an impromptu trunk show, with spanning samples of all my work. Really, I mostly just rambled on about quilts, stitchery, censorship, politics, math and stuff. The Q&A was fun too! Maybe I’ll do this again elsewhere?
The rest of the week was spent doing work-y work in the evenings and playing all day. Made it to the Museum of Fine Arts to see the Pilgrim/Roy collection of quilts.
Ate room service breakfast in bed, wandered the Lowell Folk Festival with friends, and got my own felt vampire toast from Eling.
Boston, I’ll be back…in an exhibition at Highfield Hall in the Fall. I’ll keep working on my accent until then.
Have a great week!
