managed to get the simple quilt top basted, although it took two hours and 300 pins.

ETA: photo effect created using TiltShiftMaker.

i always start out basting on the floor to make sure than the sandwich layers are smooth and on grain. but then my knees begin to ache and i get tired of pinning the quilt to the carpet. and so i move the operation to the dining table. it’s still a pain (mainly in my back) but at least i can walk after it’s all done.

as usual, i couldn’t just leave this alone and have a simple quilt. i had to go and make it more complex. inspired by these ticker tape quilts, i’m adding some raw-edge squares of larger scaled prints to the white squares. should be a nice texture after the first wash.

still working...

the rest of the quilt will be handquilted with simple lines.

let’s see how far i can get this week…
