as a rule, with a few exceptions, i really do dislike sashing in patchwork.
and i can actually pinpoint the exact quilt that made me recognize how much i detest the ubiquitous and gratuitous use of sashing in patchwork designs these days. it isn’t a universal hatred of course, but i really do bristle when i see amazing possibilities pass by for new quilters because someone somewhere convinced them that sashing was necessary. mostly, it seems lazy and lacks creativity…
…and, umm, i’m sashing up those jumble blocks with cornerstones.
in my defense: i can’t deal with all these seams crashing together anymore. i hate myself for it, but i’ll have a better chance of surviving this quilt with my sanity more or less intact.
