On Saturday the mail was especially lovely and mostly packed with surprises.
— The first installment of the Pink Chalk monthly solids club (a belated birthday gift) arrived. I might wait until the end of the year to work with the full rainbow. Then again, I might not have enough self-control for that.
— A copy of the latest Knitscene from the ever generous and thoughtful Maryse. There are some great designs in it and I’m inspired to give some a try. Really one of my goals this year is to knit a sweater that fits me and there’s one in there that might work. Maybe?
— A great collection of fat quarters from Lynn. We are both scrappy quilters and wanted to be motivated to slice into yardage. So we set up a swap, halved some half-yards and shared. I look forward to using these prints in a new project soon; they round out my color palette of FQs quite nicely.
— Caro actually put me on to a great deal on rotary cutter blades and I decided to stock up. I am now ready to slice and dice like a champ for a long time.
— And using a Groupon deal from B&N, I picked up a copy of the Pride and Prejudice miniseries–the one with Colin Firth–at half price. Oh, Colin!
It was super delightful to find this teetering pile of treasures on my doorstep. Now I’m off to sew and knit and study Mr. Darcy.
