As soon as I saw Kay’s new blanket pattern I bought it and cast on. The proceeds from the sale of the pattern go to Mercy Corps in Japan. You can also buy the pattern on Ravelry.
Kay’s blocks are knit with Noro and last night I happened upon Cara’s lovely Tahki cotton version. I love both versions, but must admit to feeling some Noro withdrawal. So I’ll be stocking up later in the week.
Just a reminder: I also recommend direct donations to any of the following organizations to help the people of Japan.
The Red Cross
The Japan Society
NGO-JEN
Money helps the people buy the things that they determine they need for themselves. And every penny counts.
Thanks for that, I have just bought a copy. It’s a really lovely pattern
Thanks for the shoutout! I love this pattern and I’m sure in your more than capable hands whatever you decide to do with it will be gorgeous!
I LOVE how crisp these colors look together!
I wish I could knit!
I was teetering and your gentle push toppled me over the edge…
Perfect timing. I was wondering whether there might be a good knitting/giving opportunity out there and this is a great one. I love your red and white version! Thanks for the push and inspiration.
I always love your color choices. I love Kay’s mitered/log cabin combo.
I bought the pattern, this is going to be a must knit blanket for me this year.
The blanket is going to be awesome! I can’t wait to see all the colors that you put into it. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I’m excited to watch this one grow! (and that quilt book it’s inspired by looks pretty fun too!)
Thank you C!
The Red Cross thanks you also! Beautiful!
Kay
Thanks for sharing the link for the pattern. I’m amazed at the donations it has already created for Japan.
Your color choices and spirit of giving are both admirable. I’m a new reader drawn to your blog by that incredible blanket, Syncopation. Forgive this look back, but I’m so curious about your statement that you learned to manage many colors efficiently. How? Mine are always a mess.
