Well…more like a middle finger salute to winter. Scroll back two days to see some process shots.

This was just an improvisational fantasy frenzy that I densely quilted and then blocked into submission. (Those channels are 1/4″ and 1/8″.)

Top was about 54″ square and shrank in dense quilting and a warm water wash to be about 49″ square. The fabric is a medium weight slubby weave so the size was controlled by the heft. Had to cram through the machine harp over and over again, ruining my wrists in a matter of hours. Oy. But I love love love this fabric!

salute to winter?

Now…how about that backyard iceberg just melts away soon? Please?
