Those words make me nostalgic and hungry! My parents were from Arkansas and those are things I ate in my childhood (and I still eat most of them). Unfortunately, I was also exposed to my father’s bigotry. Some things no longer remain with me, luckily.

You are incredible. You captured that *want* of homesickness perfectly. I could write one of these for my home state of Wisconsin, though it might include all of the seasons. Currently I want some fried cheese curds, but not all fried cheese curds will scratch that itch
