“WHAT is this?!” she screams from this Blizzard covered land….
Potholder weaving. :)
Oh, man- This will destroy all my fine intents to focus on crochet, and quit flitting around to every craft that catches my eye. I want to tell myself that so long is it involves fiber, it’s not really cheating; but this could send me spinning off into who knows where!
But still, very, cool.
My sister and I made those when we were kids. She got a kit for Christmas. When we ran out of the loops, the game was over, but I remember it being a lot of fun. Would be interesting to take a bunch of potholders and make a “potholder quilt” – there is such a thing, you know. :)
Yep, those are some stiff and heavy quilts. yikes.
Maybe a potholder-quilt-rug would be just the thing.
omg, the rainy day summer craft of the sixties :)
Potholder!!! Great colors.
One childhood memory that also came flooding back was the frustration of finishing the sides. I also managed to lose the crochet hook that came in the box, so I had to finish the potholder with my hands. Yes, I persisted.
A friend of mine got one of those looms a couple of years ago and she made potholders for all of us for Christmas… in each of our various kitchen colors! I love them so much I am still trying to figure out how best to display them (and yes, also use them),
Love your soul lifting bright rich colors.
What the what?!
