It’s rare that I finish things because I work in spurts of inspiration, wandering between works-in-progress and constantly starting new things. It’s possible that an exhibition deadline kept me honest on this one?
After three false starts, this “response to Gee’s Bend” came together quickly, a melange of marinating ideas from the past few years. The size constraints for the exhibit are far too small for the idea here and so I’m ready to hunker down and do it the way it’s meant to be. Just need the time…much much more time.
